MSc Director

  • Alexander serves the Department of Mechanical Engineering UoWM as the Director for both, the Laboratory of Biomaterials and Computational Mechanics and the MSc in Biomedical Engineering.

Professors & Guest Lecturers

  • Pantelis Angelidis is a Prof. on Bioinformatics & Digital Health  in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in the University of Western Macedonia, Kozani, Greece since 2008. He is a Telecommunication & Computer Engineer by education.

  • Dora received her diploma in Chemical Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2010, wherefrom 5 years later she successfully completed her PhD in the development of mucus-permeating nanoparticulate drug delivery systems for the delivery of biopharmaceuticals, which was performed

  • Stergios graduated (BSc, MSc, PhD) from the Department of Metallurgy of Manchester University (UK). He serves as the Vice Rector of the TEIWM and Chair of the Research Committee, while also leading the accredited Centre for Testing of Materials and Constructions (CTMC).

  • Thimios is Professor of Oral Biology in the Medical Faculty at the University of Zurich, Switzerland. He conducts research in the fields of stem cells, genetics, molecular and experimental biology related to orofacial developmental and regeneration processes.

  • Prof. Simeon Agathopoulos, is Professor of Ceramics Engineering, in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, School of Engineering, University of Ioannina, Greece. He got a Diploma in Chemistry, and a Ph.D.

  • Prof. Constantine David, is Head of the Laboratory of Manufacturing Technology & Machine Tools and Vice President of the Serres Applied Research Center.

  •  Past president of the Hellenic Society of Biomechanics (2017-2018). His research interests concern the biomechanical analysis of sport techniques as executed by elite, amateur, youth athletes or athletes with various impairments.

  • Dr. Iraklis Chatziparasidis, serves as the Head of the Engineering Research Department in a multinational company while being an Adjunct Lecturer of Engineering at UoWM.

  • Nikos holds a degree in Electronic Engineering and a master's degree in Mechatronics, from the Department of Electrical Engineering of the University of Applied Sciences of West Macedonia.

  • Dr. Emmanouil Varitis is mechanical Engineer with doctoral thesis in Reverse Engineering and Rapid Prototyping.

  • Alkiviadis Tsamis was born in 1979 in Athens. He is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Western Macedonia (Kozani, Greece).

  • Markos G. Tsipouras was born in Athens, Greece (1977). He received the diploma degree in Computer Science, M.Sc. and Ph.D in biomedical informatics and biomedical signal processing, in 1999, 2002 and 2008, respectively, from the Department of Computer Science, University of Ioannina, Greece.
